Preparation Steps
  1. Marinate the beef by combining the flank steak with cornstarch, mirin, and low sodium soy sauce in a ziplock bag. Seal and shake to coat, letting it sit for 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the sauce by whisking together chili oil, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, hoisin sauce, and light brown sugar in a bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the marinated beef for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Sauté the bell pepper, ginger, and garlic in the same skillet for 3-4 minutes until tender.
  5. Combine the seared beef and sautéed vegetables in the skillet, add the sauce, stir to coat, and let simmer for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
