Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, ground veal, Parmesan cheese, fresh breadcrumbs, and beaten egg. Mix thoroughly.
  2. With wet hands, form the mixture into large meatballs about 3-4 inches in diameter. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the meatballs for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
  4. Transfer the meatballs into a pot of homemade tomato sauce and let them simmer for approximately 30 minutes.
  5. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente, then toss with a ladle of tomato sauce.
  6. To serve, twirl spaghetti onto plates, top with a meatball, drizzle with tomato sauce, and sprinkle with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
