Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare three round cake pans by greasing them with butter and dusting with flour.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined and fluffy.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and homogenous.
  4. Divide the batter evenly among three bowls. Fold melted chocolate into one, pureed strawberries into another, and leave the last bowl plain.
  5. Pour the cake batters into the prepared pans, making sure they are evenly distributed, and smooth the tops with a spatula. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  6. Once baked, let the cake layers cool in their pans for about 10 minutes. Run a knife along the edges to loosen them.
  7. Frost the chocolate layer with cream cheese frosting, stack the strawberry layer on top, and repeat with the vanilla layer.
