- Preheat your oven to 160°C (325°F) and grease the Financier pan.
- Brown the unsalted butter in a saucepan over low heat for 5-8 minutes.
- Sift together the plain flour, almond meal, icing sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- Whisk the room-temperature egg whites until slightly bubbly, then fold into the dry ingredients.
- Fold in the slightly cooled brown butter and vanilla extract until just combined.
- Fill each cavity of the prepared Financier pan about three-quarters full with the batter.
- Bake for 12 to 14 minutes until lightly golden and springy to touch.
- Cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
