  • 1 cup Cooked Lentils You can use any type of lentils.
  • 1 cup Cooked Rice White or brown rice can be used.
  • 1 cup Chopped Onion Sautéed for better flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
For the Cabbage
  • 8 leaves Cabbage Leaves Blanched to soften.
For Serving
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce For topping the rolls.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Herbs Chopped, for garnish.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking dish by spreading some tomato sauce at the bottom.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked lentils, cooked rice, sautéed onion, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix well.
  3. Take a cabbage leaf, place a portion of the filling at the base, then roll it up and tuck in the sides.
  4. Place the rolled cabbage leaves seam side down in the baking dish.
  5. Pour remaining tomato sauce over the rolls and cover the baking dish with foil.
  6. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving with fresh herbs on top.
