  • 3 cups Bread Flour All-purpose flour can work

  • 1/2 cup Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese Mozzarella is a substitute
  • 1/2 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese Different varieties can be used
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder One clove = 1/8 tsp powder
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese Can switch with Pecorino Romano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano Fresh oregano may be used
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Parsley Fresh parsley can brighten the flavor
For the Topping
  • 1/4 cup Additional Grated Cheese Any melting cheese works
  • 2 teaspoons Extra Garlic Powder

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Mix ingredients: Combine warm water, instant yeast, and granulated sugar in a stand mixer bowl and let the yeast activate for about 5 minutes.
  2. Incorporate flour & cheese: Gradually add bread flour and shredded cheeses, mixing until a smooth dough forms.
  3. First rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and allow it to rise for approximately 30 minutes until doubled in size.
  4. Shape the dough: Punch down the risen dough, divide into 4 portions, and shape each into a log.
  5. Prepare the topping: In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, grated Parmesan, oregano, and parsley, then sprinkle over the loaves.
  6. Second rise: Cover shaped loaves and let them rise for another hour until puffed up.
  7. Preheat oven: Set your oven to 375°F.
  8. Score & bake: Slash the tops of the loaves, optionally sprinkle extra cheese, and bake for 16-20 minutes until golden.
