Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Carefully unroll the crescent dough onto the prepared parchment paper.
  3. Using a sharp knife, slice 4-inch diagonal strips along each long side of the dough, leaving a solid 4-inch center untouched.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, and ½ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice. Mix until smooth.
  5. In another bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree, the remaining granulated sugar, and another ½ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice.
  6. Fold the ends of the dough over the filling, then fold the side strips over the top to create a braid pattern.
  7. Combine turbinado sugar with any remaining pumpkin pie spice and sprinkle over the braided dough.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. While the braid bakes, whisk together powdered sugar, cream cheese, and a splash of milk until smooth.
  10. Once baked, remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and drizzle with the glaze before serving warm.
