Ingredients
  

Pie Crust
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold, cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 pinch salt to taste
  • 1-3 tblsp ice water as needed
Apple Filling
  • 3 cups Honeycrisp apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tblsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tsp cinnamon ground
  • 1 tblsp cornstarch
Topping
  • 1 tblsp milk for brushing
  • 1 tblsp sugar for sprinkling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add butter and mix until crumbly.
  3. Gradually add ice water, mixing until the dough forms. Chill while preparing filling.
  4. In another bowl, toss sliced apples with brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and cornstarch.
Assembly
  1. Roll out dough on a floured surface to form a 12-inch circle. Transfer to a baking sheet.
  2. Arrange apple mixture in the center, leaving about 2 inches of dough around edges.
  3. Fold the edges of the dough over the apples, pleating as needed. Brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes, or until crust is golden and apples are tender.
  2. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
