- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and prepare a 9x13 baking dish by lining it with parchment paper.
- Cream together 1 ½ cups of margarine and ½ cup of SPLENDA® Naturals Sugar & Stevia Sweetener Blend using an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add 1 tablespoon of pure vanilla extract and ½ teaspoon of almond extract to the mixture and mix at low speed until just combined.
- Whisk together 3 ¼ cups of all-purpose flour, 3 tablespoons of cornstarch, and ⅛ teaspoon of salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the creamed mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Gently fold in 11.5 ounces of dark chocolate chips using a spatula.
- Fold in ¾ cup of chopped maraschino cherries, being careful to maintain their shape.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and cool completely in the pan before transferring to the refrigerator for about an hour to set.
- Allow to come to room temperature before cutting into 48 squares.
