Step-by-Step Instructions for Voodoo Egg Rolls
- In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, cream cheese, diced sausage (if using), finely chopped green onions, and shredded cheddar cheese. Add your desired amount of hot sauce and Cajun seasoning to the mixture, stirring until everything is well combined.
- Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape. Spoon approximately 2 tablespoons of the filling near the bottom corner of the wrapper. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, tuck in the sides to seal, and roll tightly upwards, ensuring no filling escapes.
- In a deep skillet or fryer, pour around 2 inches of vegetable oil and heat it to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.
- Carefully place a few egg rolls into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally until they are golden brown and crispy.
