For the Balls
  • 2 cups Mashed Potatoes Substitution: Use instant mashed potatoes for quicker prep.
  • 2 cups Stuffing Substitution: Any leftover stuffing works, whether homemade or store-bought.
  • 1 cup Shredded Turkey Substitution: Can replace with shredded chicken for variation.
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Adjust to taste.
For the Coating
  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs Substitution: Regular breadcrumbs can be used, but panko creates a crispier texture.
  • 1/4 cup Butter/Oil Use vegetable oil or melted butter based on preference.
For Serving
  • 1 cup Gravy Use homemade or store-bought for convenience.
  • 1/2 cup Cranberry Sauce Adds a lovely burst of sweetness when drizzled on top.

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Bring all your ingredients to room temperature. Warm up the mashed potatoes slightly if cold.
  2. Combine the mashed potatoes and stuffing in a large mixing bowl. Fold in the shredded turkey and sprinkle black pepper to taste.
  3. Decide whether to bake or pan-fry. If baking, preheat oven to 375°F (190°C), line a baking sheet with parchment, and arrange the balls to bake for 10-12 minutes.
  4. For pan-frying, roll each ball in panko breadcrumbs, heat butter or oil in a nonstick pan over medium heat, and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. Transfer the cooked Turkey Stuffing Balls to a platter. Serve hot with warm gravy and a drizzle of cranberry sauce.
