Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) if you prefer to bake the toast. Alternatively, you can use a toaster or a skillet.
In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
Spread the softened butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture generously over the buttered side of the bread.
If baking, place the slices on a baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy. If using a skillet, toast the bread buttered side down over medium heat until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes, then flip and toast the other side for an additional minute.
Remove from the oven or skillet and let cool slightly before serving.
