  • 8 large chocolate croissants cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Place the cut croissant pieces evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the croissant pieces, ensuring they are evenly soaked. Gently press down on the croissants to help them absorb the liquid.
  5. Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly over the top of the mixture.
  6. Allow the mixture to sit for about 10-15 minutes to soak up the liquid.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
