Step-by-Step Instructions for Cherry Blondies
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish lightly with butter or cooking spray, and line with parchment paper.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine 1¾ cups of all-purpose flour, ½ teaspoon of baking powder, and ¼ teaspoon of salt. Mix until evenly combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together 1 large egg, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, ½ teaspoon of almond extract, and ½ cup of cherry pie filling until well combined.
- Melt 1½ sticks of salted butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the browned butter with ½ cup of granulated sugar and 1 cup of brown sugar, and mix until smooth.
- Add the wet mixture to the sugary butter blend and mix until well incorporated.
- Gradually fold the dry flour mixture into the wet batter, then fold in ¼ cup of white chocolate chips and ¼ cup of slivered almonds.
- Spread the batter into the prepared baking dish, smoothing out the top. Optionally, sprinkle with extra white chocolate chips and slivered almonds.
- Bake for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for about 20 minutes, then lift out using parchment and slice into squares.

Notes
Keep a close eye on browning butter and allow blondies to cool before cutting for the best texture.
