- In a large saucepan, melt ¼ cup of unsalted butter over low heat.
- Once the butter is completely melted, add 4 cups of mini marshmallows.
- Stir continuously for about 4-5 minutes until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 3 ounces of cherry gelatin powder.
- Gradually fold in 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal, stirring gently.
- Transfer the mixture into a buttered 13x9 baking dish and press firmly.
- Melt 1 cup of dark chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Pour the melted dark chocolate over the pressed Rice Krispie mixture.
- Let the treats cool at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
- Cut into squares or rectangles after they have cooled for an additional 45 minutes to an hour.
