Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large saucepan, melt ¼ cup of unsalted butter over low heat.
  2. Once the butter is completely melted, add 4 cups of mini marshmallows.
  3. Stir continuously for about 4-5 minutes until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 3 ounces of cherry gelatin powder.
  5. Gradually fold in 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal, stirring gently.
  6. Transfer the mixture into a buttered 13x9 baking dish and press firmly.
  7. Melt 1 cup of dark chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl.
  8. Pour the melted dark chocolate over the pressed Rice Krispie mixture.
  9. Let the treats cool at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
  10. Cut into squares or rectangles after they have cooled for an additional 45 minutes to an hour.
