Preparation Steps
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and unsalted butter using an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  2. Gradually add sharp cheddar cheese, followed by all-purpose flour, salt, and garlic powder.
  3. Mix until just combined, ensuring the dough is smooth and cohesive.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Roll the chilled dough into 1-inch balls and arrange them on the baking sheet.
  7. Using your thumb, create a small well in the center of each dough ball.
  8. Fill each well with about ½ teaspoon of hot pepper jelly.
  9. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes until they are golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  11. Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley and serve.
