- Preheat your oven to its highest setting, ideally around 250°C (428°F).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the water, olive oil, flour, and salt until a rough dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Slice the onions thinly and steam them in a small bowl with water in the microwave for about 1 minute.
- Mix creme fraiche and sour cream in another bowl, season with salt and pepper.
- Transfer the rolled dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and spread the cream mixture over it.
- Spread the steamed onions and bacon (or preferred vegetarian alternative) evenly on top.
- Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the dough is crispy.
- Let it cool for a minute, optional to sprinkle chopped chives before serving.
