Description
Smash Burger Tacos combine the juicy flavors of a smash burger with the convenience of a taco, creating a delicious and unique meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 8 small flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup pickles, sliced
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- Cooking oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a little cooking oil to coat the bottom.
- Divide the beef mixture into 8 equal portions (about 2 ounces each). Roll each portion into a ball and place them in the hot skillet.
- Using a spatula, smash each ball down to form a thin patty. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the edges are crispy and browned.
- Flip the patties and cook for another 2-3 minutes until cooked through. Remove from the skillet and let rest.
- In the same skillet, warm the flour tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until soft and pliable.
- Assemble the tacos by placing a patty on each tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and pickles.
- In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard. Drizzle over the assembled tacos.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add sliced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the tacos.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, adjusting the cooking time as needed.
