Description

A delicious and easy-to-make Korean Beef Bowl recipe that combines ground beef with savory flavors and fresh vegetables, served over rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ground ginger, and black pepper. Pour this mixture over the cooked beef and stir to combine. Let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  4. While the beef is simmering, steam the broccoli florets until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. To serve, place a scoop of cooked rice in a bowl, top with the beef mixture, steamed broccoli, and shredded carrots. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the beef mixture.
  • Substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
