Description

Delicious and spicy Honey Jalapeño Turkey Burgers topped with creamy avocado crema, perfect for a summer barbecue.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns
  • 1 avocado
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, honey, chopped jalapeño, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined, but do not overwork the meat.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the turkey patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the avocado crema. In a blender or food processor, combine avocado, sour cream, lime juice, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  5. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a turkey patty on each bun, topping with avocado crema, and garnishing with fresh cilantro. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For added flavor, mix in shredded cheese or chopped herbs into the turkey mixture before forming patties.
  • If you prefer a spicier kick, leave some seeds in the jalapeño or add a dash of hot sauce to the avocado crema.
