A delicious and easy recipe for crispy shrimp made in an air fryer, perfect for a quick meal or appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- Cooking spray or olive oil spray
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
- In another shallow bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In a third bowl, beat the eggs until well combined.
- Dredge each shrimp in the flour, shaking off the excess. Dip it into the beaten eggs, then coat it with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- Arrange the breaded shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray lightly with cooking spray or olive oil spray.
- Air fry the shrimp for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
Notes
- For a gluten-free option, substitute the all-purpose flour with almond flour and use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
- Add your favorite spices or herbs to the breadcrumb mixture for extra flavor, such as Italian seasoning or grated Parmesan cheese.
