Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and olive oil together.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
- Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Stir in the Italian seasoning, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and let the sauce thicken for a few minutes before serving.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute half of the heavy cream with low-fat milk or half-and-half.
- Add cooked chicken or shrimp for a protein boost and make it a complete meal.
