- 2 cups orzo pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound chicken sausage, sliced
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add the orzo and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In the same pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and broccoli florets to the pot. Sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender and bright green.
- Stir in the cooked orzo, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
- Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

- For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken sausage with plant-based sausage or omit it entirely and add more vegetables.
- Add a splash of lemon juice before serving for a fresh, zesty flavor.
